Labwork
If your pet is healthy, it provides a baseline of your pet’s normal values. If your pet is sick, it will help to identify the cause.
The results of these blood tests, in combination with a physical exam and your pet’s medical history, are used to help diagnose disease and detect injury. Wellness bloodwork can help identify infection, inflammation, dehydration, anemia, diabetes, or liver and kidney disease.
Annual bloodwork is recommened for all patients under the age of 7 years and every 6 months for senior patients or pets that are on long term medications. This allows the doctor to stay proactive in their treatment by identifying potential issues before they progress.

X-Rays
We may recommend veterinary X-rays as part of a diagnostic procedure if your pet is experiencing any health conditions or as a preventive measure in a routine senior wellness examination. We use radiology alone or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools depending on the patient’s condition. We’re fully equipped to perform routine radiology services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma.

Ultrasound
An ultrasound is excellent at evaluating your pet’s internal organs. An ultrasound is usually recommended when our doctors find abnormalities on bloodwork or x-rays, to monitor a disease process or to help guide the process for obtaining a sterile urine sample (cystocentesis.)
