About Me
Hi! I'm dr. sharon christie
owner/ mananging veterinarian
Dr. Christie has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 35 years! A graduate of Purdue Veterinary School, Dr. Christie has been an avid animal caretaker for as long as she can remember.
A pillar in the Harrison County community, she graduated locally as valedictorian from North Harrison High School where all of her children have also attended. Through all of her children’s 4-H years she has participated in multiple species projects, including: Horses, Dogs, and Cats. Even though her children have grown you will still find her volunteering her time to assist with the local 4-H groups. She is also on the Harrison County Board of Health and operates the annual rabies clinics each year. Each week Dr. Christie also dedicates her time to ensure that the homeless animals at our local shelter have the medical care and attention they deserve!
When she is not volunteering her time or caring for her patients at the clinic, Dr. Christie enjoys spending time on her farm with a menagerie of different animals: 4 horses, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. She can often be found in the saddle as she pursues her personal goal of learning Grand Prix dressage movements!
Dr. Christie is the heart and soul of Smith Animal Clinic. Her team would love the opportunity to show you how her dedication and passion for animal welfare, teamwork and empathy provides you and your pet with the highest standard of care!
